Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden practices and fearsome changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also introduces the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
Earlier Japanese Animation Crossovers
This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime franchises. The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally contained a quest that obviously referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
